The Association for the Control of Emissions in Products for Flooring Installation, Adhesives and Building Materials (GEV) organized a round-robin test on determination of VOC emissions from three products. A parquet lacquer, a silicon sealant and a synthetic resin coating were tested according to the most recent GEV testing protocol after 3 days storage in a ventilated test chamber. GEV evaluation is based upon correctness of identification of the most relevant emitted substances and deviation of laboratory individual results from the results of the entity of all participants in the round-robin test, relative to the standard deviation (‘z score’). Key parameters for the evaluation were: TVOC, sum of VOC (TVOCSPEZ as for AgBB), TSVOC, R value (AgBB), and selected VOCs.
The Belgian laboratory Servaco was acquired by Normec in 2018 and, together with VITO, provides global compliance reports for all relevant product emission test requirements. Normec Product Testing is the trade name, Servaco Product Testing is the legal entity.
